At Jakson Group, we have taken a significant step forward in strengthening India’s renewable energy manufacturing landscape with the launch of Phase 1 of our 6 GW Integrated Solar Manufacturing Facility in Madhya Pradesh. Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav laid the foundation stone (Bhoomi Poojan) at our Maksi Phase II site in Ujjain district, marking a proud milestone not just for us as an organisation but for the state and the nation’s clean energy journey.
Spread across a 113.5-acre campus, this project reinforces Madhya Pradesh’s emergence as a promising clean energy manufacturing hub. It was an honour for us to have our leadership, Mr Sameer Gupta (Chairman) and Mr Sundeep Gupta (Vice Chairman), present alongside key government dignitaries. Together, we reaffirmed our commitment to supporting India’s clean energy goals, strengthening technological self-reliance, and contributing meaningfully to the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
A Landmark for Clean Energy in Madhya Pradesh
With the groundbreaking of this facility, we are contributing to one of the state’s most significant renewable energy initiatives. The project positions Madhya Pradesh as a rapidly growing hub for solar manufacturing and plays a crucial role in supporting India’s transition to sustainable, locally manufactured solar technologies.
Leadership Reflections on a Transformative Milestone
Government Leadership
During the ceremony, the Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav highlighted that the Maksi solar manufacturing facility exemplifies Madhya Pradesh’s strong investor-friendly climate and its pivotal role in India’s shift towards clean energy. He mentioned that this project is poised to create skilled job opportunities, enhance logistics capabilities, and solidify the state’s position as a growth-oriented hub, complete with a solid talent pool and infrastructure, all aligned with the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
Jakson Group Leadership
Our leadership team shared the strategic significance of this milestone for Jakson Group.
Mr Sameer Gupta, our Chairman, emphasised that this project marks a defining moment in our 78-year legacy. As we advance our commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative, this integrated facility will help drive technological independence and boost the nation’s clean energy manufacturing capabilities.
Mr Sundeep Gupta, our Vice Chairman, shared how vertical integration is essential for India’s long-term energy security. He highlighted that the Maksi facility strengthens our ability to innovate, optimise costs, and build resilience against global supply chain disruptions. With the support of progressive state policies and India’s renewable energy roadmap, we are firmly positioned to accelerate the country’s march toward a sustainable, carbon-neutral future.
Madhya Pradesh’s Largest Solar Manufacturing Initiative
With an investment exceeding ₹8,000 crore, this project is the largest solar manufacturing initiative in Madhya Pradesh. It directly supports India’s ambitious target of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and reaching Net Zero by 2070. For us at Jakson, this is not just an investment; it is a long-term commitment to building India’s clean energy future.
Project Development Overview
Our solar manufacturing facility is being developed in phases, enabling us to progressively strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities.
Phase I Highlights
- Establishment of 3 GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity
- Establishment of 4 GW of solar module manufacturing capacity
Future Phases
- Backward integration into ingot and wafer production
- Development of a comprehensive solar manufacturing ecosystem in Madhya Pradesh
- Creation of growth opportunities for supply chain partners and ancillary industries
Strengthening Jakson Group’s Presence in the State
Madhya Pradesh has been an important state for the Jakson Group. We already operate a 150 KLPD grain-based ethanol manufacturing plant in Balaghat, and this new facility further deepens our commitment to the region. As we expand our renewable energy footprint, we are proud to contribute to the state’s economic development and its role in shaping India’s clean energy narrative.
Final Thoughts
Launching Phase 1 of our 6 GW Integrated Solar Manufacturing Facility marks a defining moment for Jakson Group and for Madhya Pradesh’s clean energy evolution. With strong government support, a clear strategic vision, and unwavering dedication to technological independence, we are confident that this project will significantly advance India’s renewable energy capabilities.
As we move through the upcoming phases, we look forward to creating meaningful impact by enhancing domestic manufacturing to generate employment, boosting local industry, and strengthening India’s global position in renewable energy.
For us at Jakson Group, this milestone represents more than infrastructure development; it is a purposeful step toward a cleaner, more self-reliant, and energy-secure India. Our journey continues with renewed momentum, clarity, and commitment to driving positive change.
