Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose (Kolkata) International Airport is a civil airport located in West Bengal, (the City of Joy), named in the honour of  Indian freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. The airport is controlled and operated by the Airports Authority of India (AAI). Spread over an area of 2,460 acres (1,000 ha), Kolkata airport is presently handling approx. 2 Cr. passengers a year and will have a capacity of 2.5 Cr. passengers in current fiscal year.
